The Sille Museum
The Sille Museum
The Sille Museum, located on Government Street, is one of the historical public buildings in Sille that has survived to the present day. The two-story building, built in the 1930s, was used as the Sille Elementary School for a long time. It also served as a city hall for a period. In 1995-1996, the Sille Carpet Cooperative operated in the building. The building, built in the plan of a traditional Turkish house with a sloping roof, arches and bay windows, has the appearance of a large mansion. One of the most magnificent buildings in Sille, the museum is also one of the first brick-roofed buildings in Sille. In the middle of the first floor of the museum there is a sofa, rooms around the sofa, and on the second floor there is a fairly large space at the entrance and rooms around it. The structure, which has a small courtyard to the south, has three entrances: north, west and south. The entrance on that side is slightly higher than the others because the north side of Hacı Ali Ağa Street is higher. There is also a ground floor in the lower part of the building due to the difference in floor space. The west and south gates are accessed by a staircase with eight or nine steps. The entrance to the ground floor is located at the bottom of the stairs to the south.
