The monument of Pobednik
Pobednik is located in the Upper Town in Belgrade Castle. It was built to commemorate Serbia's victory over the Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian Empires during the Balkan Wars and World War I. In 1928, the Pobednik (Galip) Monument was opened to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the victory in the First World War. The Pobednik (Galip) Monument was opened to celebrate the anniversary. The monument, 17 m long, consists of a bronze male figure and a caid. In the male figure, the sword in his left hand represents victory, and the hawk in his left hand represents power. Today, the Pobednik Monument is one of the symbols of Belgrade. The former soldier's house, built in the Balkan style behind the monument, is today the Belgrade Cultural Heritage Protection Agency. At the bottom of the monument is the 17th-century King's Gate. There's the King's Gate from the 16th century.
