The Catacombs of San Callisto
The underground tombs of Callixtus (Catacombe di San Callisto) in the city of Rome are one of the most interesting, remarkable and unusual places. Although there are many similar cemeteries across the country, this cemetery is quite large and culturally rich.

This place, also known as the Tomb of the Popes, is located on the Appian Way. It is so named because it is the burial place of 16 clergymen who held important positions in their time. Apart from these, there are about 500,000 graves.
There are many symbols inside the structure. Although each symbol has a different meaning, most of them are from the Early Christian period. Religious symbols are also important in many ways.
